Parco Nazionale dell’Asinara
The National Park of the Asinara is a natural protected area established by decree on 28 November 1997. It is located in Sardinia and more precisely in the province of Sassari. The entire territory of the National Park is represented by the island of Asinara, administratively, it belongs to the municipality of Porto Torres.
The National Park of the Asinara is for years involved in national and international project for the conservation of marine biodiversity such as:
- Equal Posidonia: Exploitation of economic vocation of the territories of the areas of the national parks of the Asinara and of La Maddalena
- Interreg IIIB: Submed – Sustainable development strategy of underwater tourism in the Mediterranean.
- Interreg IIIC: Medpan – Mediterranean Protected Areas Network
